December 27–28, Guangzhou — The 2025 Whole-Life Immunization Strategy and Policy Symposium, concurrently serving as the annual academic meeting of the Public Health Policy Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Preventive Medicine Association, convened successfully in Guangzhou. Hosted by the Public Health Policy Committee (hereinafter "the Committee"), the meeting was chaired by Professor Ma Wenjun, Director of the Committee and faculty at the School of Medicine Jinan University; Professor Liu Tao, Committee officer and faculty at the same School;Dr.WuWeiof the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Public Health; and Professor Liang Xiaofeng, Vice President of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. Zhang Lin, Second-Level Inspector of the Immunization Division at the Guangdong Provincial CDC Bureau, delivered the opening address. Over 60 experts and scholars from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) China Office, and other institutions participated.
The symposium featured ten expert presentations spanning frontier perspectives and practical experience in whole-life immunization:
Director Wang Fuzhen(China CDC) reviewed China's achievements in priority disease prevention and control, proposing strategies for high-quality immunization program development through new vaccine inclusion and optimized vaccination services.
Dr.ChenZhongdan(WHO China Office) analyzed global demographic shifts and emerging infectious disease challenges, elucidating the life-course approach and its application to immunization strategies.
Director KwanYat-wa (Princess Margaret Hospital, Hong Kong) presented practices on cross-regional vaccination mutual recognition in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
DirectorLiuJun(Guangdong Provincial CDC Immunization Institute) shared outcomes and scalable experiences from ten core people-oriented initiatives, including the "30-Minute Vaccination Service Circle."
Professor Liang Xiaofengfocused on innovative medical-preventive integration
mechanisms and "vaccine prescriptions," proposing pathways to strengthen the universal health system.
Chief Physician Chen Zhiping (Zhejiang Provincial CDC) demonstrated achievements in digital immunization program innovation.
Professor Ma Wenjun interpreted the latest Expert Consensus on Immunoprevention of Human Papillomavirus-Related Diseases Including Cervical Cancer and proposed gender-inclusive vaccination strategies.
SectionChiefLiuGang(Shenzhen Municipal CDC) and Director Zhang Li (Shandong Provincial CDC) shared practical experiences in general practitioner "vaccine health prescriptions" and pilot programs.
ProgramOfficerZhangYuyuan(Chinese Preventive Medicine Association) synthesized international trends in shared accountability and immunization registries through comparative global analysis.

During panel discussions, experts reached consensus on standardizing immunization management across the Greater Bay Area, scaling vaccine prescription implementation, and integrating HPV vaccines into the National Immunization Program. In his closing remarks, Professor Liang emphasized the importance of grassroots investigation and adverse event monitoring, advocating for transparent public communication grounded in robust data to demonstrate the quality and safety of China's vaccines and enhance public confidence.



Through diverse formats, the symposium systematically synthesized frontier concepts and practical outcomes in whole-life immunization planning, consolidating professional consensus and providing substantive experience and technical support for regional immunization programs nationwide. The meeting will contribute to improving the accessibility and equity of immunization services in China, fortifying the immunological foundation for population health.
