August8,Guangzhou— TheAnnualMeetingoftheYouthWorkingCommittee of theChineseAssociationof Anatomistsand the concurrentFrontierForumfor YoungScientistsconvened at Jinan University. Hosted by the Chinese Association of Anatomists and organized by Jinan University—with co-sponsorship from the Guangdong Provincial Society of Anatomy, ChineseJournalofClinicalAnatomy, and the Guangdong Association for Young Scientists and Technicians—the forum centered on the theme "Innovation-Driven · Collaborative Development."Over 100 young scientists, scholars, and faculty-student representatives from across China and abroad gathered for in-depth exchanges on frontier biomedical technologies and clinical applications.
The opening ceremony took place at the Alumni Hall Conference Center.GuNaihua, Vice President of Jinan University;LiHe, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Anatomists; andWangYue, Chair of the Youth Working Committee, delivered addresses.GulmiraZhurabekova, Vice Rector of West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University, andGuoNing, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office at Jinan University, also attended. The ceremony was presided over byGao Hao, Director of the Science and Technology Division.

In his welcoming remarks, Vice President Gu highlighted Jinan University's distinction as one of the first medical schools established within a comprehensive university in the People's Republic of China. He emphasized the University's enduring commitment to medical disciplinary development and research talent cultivation, noting that anatomy constitutes the cornerstone of medicine and life sciences while young scholars represent the vital force driving the discipline's future. He called upon participants to embrace the spirit of "explorers" venturing into scientific frontiers, "practitioners" addressing national priorities, and "guardians" advancing the discipline's sustainable high-quality development. Jinan University, he affirmed, remains dedicated to fostering collaboration with peer institutions in service of the Healthy China strategy.

Professor Li He extended warm greetings on behalf of the Association, briefly surveying the Society's century-long legacy and current standing. He observed that anatomy now stands at a transformative juncture of deep integration with modern technology—an evolution presenting unprecedented opportunities and challenges for young scholars. He encouraged participants to leverage this forum to strengthen dialogue, mutual learning, and innovation capacity, collectively advancing the anatomical sciences.

ProfessorWangYuenoted that the Youth Working Committee remains committed to providing growth platforms and facilitating academic exchange. As the fifth iteration of this annual gathering, this meeting—hosted at Jinan University, a century-old institution serving overseas Chinese communities—featured distinguished experts from China and abroad, constituting a veritable academic feast. Looking ahead, the Committee will leverage the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a gateway to intensify international engagement and showcase the excellence of China's young anatomical scientists.

Academician-Led Keynotes Illuminate Global Frontiers
The forum's highlight featured an address byProfessorMalcolmXing, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and Professor at the University of Manitoba. His keynote, "Bio-Inspired Adhesive Hemostatic Bio-Glue: Development andApplication," offered an accessible yet authoritative overview of cutting-edge advances in biomimetic materials for medical applications. Professor Xing engaged in vibrant discussion with attendees on industrial translation and technology commercialization, generating enthusiastic response throughout the hall.

Subsequent thematic presentations byProfessor GuoXuejiang (Nanjing Medical University), Professor Mei Feng (Army Medical University), Professor ZhangHongbo(Sun Yat-sen University),ProfessorXu Geyang (Jinan University), andProfessor Zheng Lei(Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University) demonstrated the increasingly interdisciplinary and integrative trajectory of modern biomedical research.
Dialogue and Collaboration: Bridging Academia and Industry
A dedicated panel discussion brought togetherZhouDeshan, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Anatomists;DongYulin,ZengWen,andWangGuang, Deputy Chairs of the Youth Working Committee; Liu Qiong, Secretary-General;ProfessorChenGuobing, Dean of the School of Medicine; andProfessor Fan Jun, Associate Dean. The panel explored anatomy's developmental prospects, models for young talent cultivation, industry-academia-research collaboration mechanisms, and international partnership strategies. Experts reached consensus that anatomy currently faces unparalleled development opportunities, with emerging technologies injecting fresh momentum while simultaneously elevating demands on talent development.

Forging New Paradigms for Disciplinary Advancement
In his closing summary, Dean Chen Guobing characterized the forum as both a "stage" for young scholars to showcase achievements and a "platform" for building consensus and charting collective progress. The meeting featured senior academics offering incisive analysis of disciplinary frontiers alongside outstanding young researchers sharing specialized breakthroughs, all connected through open, substantive dialogue that established cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary channels for intellectual exchange—reinforcing shared commitment to problem-oriented, collaborative advancement.
